These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Reknit mobile application (“App”) operated by Reknit LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What Reknit Is (and Is Not)
Reknit provides exercise guidance for informational and educational purposes only. Reknit is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Use of Reknit does not create a healthcare provider–patient relationship between you and us.
Reknit is not a substitute for professional medical advice, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program, particularly if you have an existing injury or medical condition. If you are currently experiencing significant pain, numbness, weakness, or other concerning symptoms, stop using the App and seek professional evaluation immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Reknit. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Assumption of Risk
Physical exercise involves inherent risks, including risk of injury or aggravation of an existing condition. By using Reknit, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
(a) You voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses that arise from your use of the App and the exercise guidance it provides;
(b) You have consulted, or will consult, a qualified healthcare provider regarding your injury or condition before following any exercise program in the App;
(c) Reknit’s exercise guidance is general in nature, is not tailored to your specific medical history, and may not be appropriate for your individual situation;
(d) You are solely responsible for determining whether any exercise described in the App is appropriate for you given your current health status.
4. No Medical Claims
We make no representations that Reknit will prevent, treat, cure, or mitigate any injury, disease, or medical condition. Any statements in the App about the benefits of exercise are informational only and do not constitute medical claims. Progress indicators in the App (such as stage advancement) reflect your self-reported data and are not clinical assessments of your recovery.
5. AI-Generated Content
Reknit uses artificial intelligence, including Anthropic’s Claude API, to generate personalized exercise guidance and coaching messages. You acknowledge and agree that:
(a) AI-generated content may contain errors, inconsistencies, or information that is not appropriate for your specific situation;
(b) AI coaching responses should not be relied upon as medical advice;
(c) AI responses may vary across sessions and should be treated as general suggestions only;
(d) We are not liable for any harm arising from your reliance on AI-generated content.

6. Third-Party Data Processors
To operate the App, we share certain data with the following third-party service providers:
- Supabase — cloud database and authentication infrastructure. Your profile, session data, and health information are stored on Supabase servers.
- Anthropic — AI processing. Your session history and self-reported health data are transmitted to Anthropic’s API to generate coaching responses. Per Anthropic’s usage policy, Anthropic does not train its models on API inputs.
- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics. Aggregate usage events (e.g., “session completed”) are sent to PostHog. We do not send individual health data, including pain scores, to PostHog.
By using the App, you consent to data processing by these providers as described above and in our Privacy Policy.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
(a) Provide accurate information during intake and throughout your use of the App;
(b) Stop any exercise immediately if you experience sharp pain, significant increase in pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms, and seek medical attention as appropriate;
(c) Not use the App as a substitute for emergency medical care. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately;
(d) Not use the App to obtain advice about any condition that requires professional diagnosis or treatment.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its content, features, design, and exercise programming, is owned by Reknit LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
(a) WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PHYSICAL INJURY, AGGRAVATION OF AN EXISTING CONDITION, LOST DATA, OR DELAYED MEDICAL TREATMENT, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES;
(b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (ii) $0 IF THE APP WAS PROVIDED TO YOU AT NO CHARGE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reknit LLC and any officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Health Data Consent
By using the App, you explicitly consent to the collection and processing of health-related information you voluntarily provide, including injury descriptions, self-reported pain levels, exercise activity, and recovery data. This data is used to personalize your exercise plan and generate coaching insights. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on data use and your rights.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we may also provide in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications on this subject.
